While using 5g/4g mobile data* is acceptable, if you experience disconnects or other connectivity issues we suggest you connect to a secure, strong Wi-Fi network in order to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
To connect to a Wi-Fi Network
- From your Home screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi
- Turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join. You might be asked to enter the network’s password or agree to terms and conditions.
After you join the network, you’ll see a blue checkmark next to the network and the connected Wi-Fi icon in the upper corner of your display.

If your iPhone won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network:
Make sure that your router is on and that you are in range.
If you are too far from your router, you will be unable to get a signal. Please ensure that you are within range. You can also try restarting your router if you are experiencing network issues. You can do so by unplugging the router, waiting thirty seconds, and plugging it back in.
Make sure that Wi-Fi is on and you can see your network.
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure that your Wi-Fi is on. If your wifi has a blue checkmark besides the network name, you are connected.
Check your Password
If you entered the correct password, you may still see an “unable to join the network” message or an “incorrect password” message. Try restarting your device then try to reenter your password.
Restart your Device
Restarting your device may help you connect to Wi-Fi.
For iPhone X or later:
- Press and hold either volume button and the right side button until the power-off slider appears
- Drag the slider and wait for 30 seconds for your device to turn off
- To restart, press and hold the right side button until you see the Apple logo.
For iPhone 6,7,8 or SE
- Press and hold the right side button until the power-off slider appears
- Drag the slider and wait for 30 seconds for your device to turn off
- To restart, press and hold the right side button until you see the Apple logo.
If you are still having trouble
If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network but cannot get online, try using the Wi-Fi network on other devices. If you cannot get online with other devices, there may be a service outage. Call your cable company or internet provider for assistance.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi at a different location. If your device can connect, you need help with your Wi-fi network. If your device cannot connect, please contact Apple Support.
Make sure your Wi-Fi router is updated with the latest firmware and make sure your router supports your Apple product. For more information, contact the router’s manufacturer.
